“India took my breath away”

From Sharon's tripSharon went to serve in India as part of a medical team.

She went to India knowing she could help many lives with her medical experience, but came back with her own life changed forever.

As she reflected on her trip, Sharon thought only of her enjoyment in all she did to serve in rural India and the heart of compassion she developed for those in need. The trip stirred within her “a heart for the lost in India… I have so much to say and share in my heart about Jesus’ love for them.”

For Sharon, the highlight of the trip was to be able to have the chance to pray with villagers after providing medical care.

“It was difficult to realize that we had to leave at the end of the day. I was praying with many people at one of the villages and the busses were waiting for me to go.”

As she returned home, her mind started turning, thinking of all the ways “to stretch the love of Jesus to India.” The only question Sharon asked at the end of her trip was: “When can I return?”

We hope this is the experience for everyone who goes to India to see and serve – that they return with changed lives and a passion for how God can use each person in His Great Commission.
