“Do you not say, `Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”

John 4:35

As I write to you, a variety of discipleship, leadership and ministry trainings are being held across South Asia. A few days ago I had the privilege of addressing over 300 youth, a small portion of our 60,000 volunteer teachers who help with our 13,200 Children Gospel Clubs. I was deeply stirred in my heart to see their commitment to Jesus and desire to serve Him.

IGL is moving forward with a determination to meet a huge need that is arising out of a growing indigenous church. In the last year nearly 7,000 new churches have been planted, meaning an estimated 150,000 men and women have left behind the darkness of their former religious and superstitious beliefs to follow Christ. While we rejoice over this enormous harvest, we must realize the scale of the task and responsibility this poses. These new believers must be discipled, trained in the Word and equipped to multiply themselves.

I share this with a joyful heart and thank you for your partnership in this ministry, which is slowly but steadily changing the unreached rural villages in South Asia. I also share this with you to ask for your prayer and support as we move forward. The needs are obviously vast. Will you stand with us as we face the challenge of these times and such a ‘harvest’?

Together with you,

Sam Stephens
President, IGL
