You may just be settling in to summer break – going to the pool, gardening, vacationing, cooking on the deck. But for kids in India, summer break is already over. Classrooms are again filled with bright faces and laughter, as children reunite with their friends and settle in for the next academic year.

But even as these eager young minds return to the the classroom, there’s a sad truth many of them will face. Before they reach high school, 60 percent (47 million) will have dropped out of school. Imagine that! What if three out of every five children in your neighborhood never finished school? Life in America would be very different.

While the reasons for drop out vary, there are some basic causes that seem to permeate especially in rural India. Parents often choose to keep their daughters home for safety concerns and to help with chores. Likewise, young men leave their education to find a job and help supplement the family’s meager income.

Simple solutions will not solve the complex issues these young people face. Education alone will not be a comprehensive solution. It will take much more to help these children grow up to become the next generation of godly leaders, which India so desperately lacks today. But you can help.

With your support and prayers, India Gospel League (IGL) takes a multi-faceted approach to enable children to stay in school and prepare them for future leadership. From education to love, from spiritual mentoring to career guidance, IGL’s children’s ministry, currently serving 8,000+ children, has proven effective at giving children a future of which they could only dream.

IGL childcare workers are presently seeking drop-outs in rural villages to reenroll them. It is imperative that all these children receive every help to remain on the path to leadership.  So how can you help? You can give these young people the love and support they desperately need! Medical Camp

For people living in the most remote parts of India, the nearest health care center may be more than 100 miles away on foot! Your gift will provide on-site clinics in rural villages where adults and children receive care, some for the first time in their lives.
