Safe Water Goes Far Beyond the Basic Needs
Most women in rural India spend hours a day walking an average of 1.2 miles to collect water for their household needs: cooking, cleaning, bathing, washing, waste disposal and more.
If the water issue had been solved, the women would have been able to spend more time working or being trained for jobs to help supplement their household income, which in turn would help raise their families out of poverty and bring about economic development in general in rural areas.

Seeing this dire need, IGL has taken the initiative to provide “Living Water” to deserving people by providing 200 drinking water wells in rural villages in India.

The water wells were provided by IGL in these villages through individual giving and partnerships with Fresh Water Friends.
